A Knock on the Door

Writers have a thing that that they call a writer’s prompt. It’s simply something, like a picture or sentence, that ‘prompts’ them to write something based on the idea. This can be used as an exercise, or when you don’t have any ideas on what to write.
Here’s a prompt for you:
Somebody is knocking on your door.
What does that put into your mind? What’s the idea that you get?
– – (Don’t be afraid to Share!) – –
Is it the police coming to arrest you? A monster pretending to be something more innocent? A lynch mob wishing to come in?
Or is it a friend who came by to visit? Your family coming home? An invited guest coming to dinner?

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20

A lot of people treat God like He’s out to get us, like anytime now He’s going to ‘arrest’ us for our sins, or He’s some powerful monster waiting to destroy us, or a raging force ready to kill us.
So they certainly don’t want to open the door of their hearts and let him in.
But God is not like that, He’s a loves us, and He wants to come into our lives and become our Friend, or Family, Our Guest.

He’s ready to change us for the better, by joining us in life forever.
And all we need to do to open the door of our hearts, accept Him, and all the benefits of being a friend, being family, and having God as our honored guest will be ours.

So, God is knocking on your door. If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your savior, and want to know more, contact me.
If you consider yourself a Christian already, don’t leave Him out of your life. He should be your constant companion. Whether you’re eating Dinner, fighting a battle, or waking up in the morning.
There are monsters out there, devils and demons who would love you to open doors. But God isn’t one of them, with Him inside, none can stand against you.

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

Mouths and Politics

(Note: this post was Scheduled.)

Politics sometimes makes us seem stupid. It certainly causes a lot of people, both public figures and everyday citizens, to talk way too much. And the Bible certainly warns us of talking too much. In fact…

In the multitude of words sin is not lacking,
But he who restrains his lips is wise. Proverbs 10:19

Politics also has a way of keeping a lot of ears closed; it’s just so easy to label Your Opposition as Left-Wing or Right-Wing as soon as they disagree with you. But that is also the way of sin, James admonishes us to…

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: James 1:19

I would emphasis all three commands in that. Be a Listener, Keep your mouth shut for a while, and don’t go all Hot-headed and ready to mouth off something foolish. Notice that both the last two are easily interconnected, often in anger we are quick to say something evil.

Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him. Proverbs 29:20

It’s time we start being Quiet, I’m not telling you to agree with something evil, I’m saying we have to stop ourselves from becoming something we shouldn’t.

Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. Proverbs 17:28

Christians should be loving, and sometimes that means we have to be quiet and listen to both the other person and what God is trying to tell us to do about it. It’s way too easy for us to be Like everyone else in the world, and just mouth off our political views (even though we don’t often consider whether we’re correct!).

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 14:12

There are a lot of liars out there. And there are a lot of fools. Let’s avoid being like the world.

For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. James 3:2

Lead Me to The Cross

Lord, help make me more then myself, rid me of my sinful self.
Forgive my frequent transgressions, Help me to Be Quiet and know You Are God.

Let everything I’ve valued, everything that I’ve held dear, be yours.
Make me into what I am meant to be, let me value You above all others.

I thank you for taking me, for making me Your Child. When I was spiritually orphaned in a dark world, You took me in. When I was physically hungry, You kept me Fed. When I was mentally exhausted, You gave me rest.

Lead me through the darkness of my pilgrimage. Lead me towards your light. Lead me to the Cross.

Inspired by the NewsBoys song “Lead Me to the Cross” from In The Hands Of God

Are we righteous?

Yesterday, in our martial arts class. we talked about whether we are righteous.

We have a little bible study at the end of each, because it’s a Christian class, and ultimately for the glory of God, and the subject was simply this. Are We Righteous?

In Genesis 18:23-26. Abraham pleads for the city of Sodom.

And Abraham came near and said, “Would You also destroy the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there were fifty righteous within the city; would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it? Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

So the Lord said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.”

He started with 50, but again, and again, lowered the number until it became Ten.

then he said, “Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?”

And He said, “I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.”

So the Lord went His way as soon as He had finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place.

I think that Abraham was pretty sure that at least ten people would be righteous, after all he had family in that city!

But There wasn’t even ten. But God did have mercy on Lot and his family (Abraham’s relatives) leading them out.

(of a person or conduct) morally right or justifiable; virtuous.

“feelings of righteous indignation about pay and conditions” ·

“he is a good, righteous man, I am sure”
synonyms: good · virtuous · upright · upstanding · decent · worthy ·
So here’s the Challenge. If God would come to your city, looking for at least 10 righteous, Would you be one of them? Think about that.
Here’s the secret. Jesus himself gives it to us!
Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

What LU meant for me (part 2): A Farewell

Finally finished the second part! Go read it on the LUN blog.

LEGO Universe News!

(If you haven’t already, Visit the first post: What LU meant for me (part 1) https://legouniversenews.wordpress.com/2018/02/01/what-lu-meant-for-me-part-1/)

When I look back at LEGO Universe (LU), I see what could’ve been done better. For example, it felt like they announced the game a little early. With the information coming just a little too slow.

And then they redesigned the game, a big no-no in large scale game development because of the extra cost and work needed. And this is an MMOG, An even bigger task.

Comparing the Concept artwork, you can see a big difference. And while I was completely won over by the story concept for the new game, I certainly wish they had kept more of the Sandbox game design as well. (and maybe some of the environments!)

I forgot this Anniversary. Sorta.

So, Like the title said, I forgot this Anniversary. Sorta.

I say Sorta because I’ve been writing about ‘what LU meant for me’ recently and That subject is forever connected to my own blog.

Capture (Anniversary) 2

It’s been 6 years since I started my blog.

Of course, a more direct cause for me starting this blog then LU as a cause was The Legend Team, which also sadly came to an end. (Which I correctly remembered as the FIRST LU rebuilding team!)

God has changed me so much, I now know that I want to be a writer, and also possibly design and develop Videogames. I’ve grown and changed much. I’m certainly a better writer, (Those first posts, Yeash!) I’m much better spiritually, and thanks to a wonderful Church, actually care what God thinks about things.

So I forgot this Anniversary. Sorta. Even if I don’t remember the date. (Today is 2/26/2018) I will still remember the effects that change me forever.

Thanks to you all!

And thanks to God.

the first part of “What LU Meant for me” can be found here: https://legouniversenews.wordpress.com/2018/02/01/what-lu-meant-for-me-part-1/

I’m still working on the other part!

Deuteronomy 6:4-5 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”

Just saw that verse. . .

Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.” (also see Mark 12:30)

Luke 10:25-28 “And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.”

Love the Lord your God

What LU meant for me (part 1)

This post is the first part of a ‘tribute’ to LEGO universe. Yesterday marked the 6th anniversary of it’s Closure. Like I said in the post, I’ll try to get the second part out fairly quickly but it may take longer then I hope.

LEGO Universe News!

This will be a two-part post, this 1st part will be about LU itself.

The MMORPG, LEGO Universe, was shut down at the end of last month, in the year 2012. (6 years ago) It was a sad thing for many people, but interestingly enough was a turning point in my life. So I want to give glimpse of what LU meant for me, and to later show how God can use all things for His glory.

I found out about LU on the LEGO.com website. It was at the very beginning, they had put up a Teaser site, with the big “Coming Soon” words displayed. I quickly grew excited about the idea, and always paid attention to anything new that came onto the site.

It took a long time before things really started to change, I would look to the Lego message boards. I don’t remember too much about…

Viewing God’s Eclipse 2017

Eclipse post

The Eclipse (Year 2017 in August) was very interesting to watch, though we couldn’t watch it directlly (we didn’t have the glasses, so we built several ‘pinhole projectors’), and we were only in the 85% zone, It was still more amazing and different then I had expected.

Originally we had a lot of trouble with the ones we tried making (the aluminum foil was low quality… Then it was too cloudy to test.) But finally, sunday night, we made a design that worked (tested with a bright halogen light). And when it was time for the Eclipse to begin, we had them ready. (Then during the early stages my bro ‘Chewen’ made the one with the clearest image :P).

Psalm 19:1-4

The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world.

A lot of things were very interesting. It was very cool that the tempurature dropped quite a bit (instead of hot, it was nice.) The change in lighting was surreal. The air even felt strange. But one thing that amazed all of us was the tree’s shadows (including our Parents).

We had spent time (and lots of frustration) to build several projectors, and here is God’s own creation with it’s own pinhole projector! Nobody ever told any of us that this ever happens. It was almost like we discovered something never before known (though I’m sure many have seen and told of it long before us.) We learned and experienced things about God’s creation that amazed us whether we knew about that detail or not.

All in all, it was a great experience for all of us. And I’m glad to have been able to participate in such a cool event (and we didn’t even need to go anywhere!).

What about You guys, have anything to say about this Eclipse? Funny stories, your personal favorite parts, what have you, please do tell!

Or If you just want to comment on my post, go ahead please!

Just remember to thank & praise God for His amazing Creation!
